About Me
Crafting is something that has been a part of me for as long as I can remember. It's not just something I love to do, but is in my blood. My mother and her family also had their own jewelry business called Inga Enamels, and I always loved watching my mom, Mimi, Buppa, and uncle making these gorgeous necklaces and pins out of glass. I couldn't wait until I was old enough to help them. I couldn't make the pendants then, but I always helped where I could, whether it was at craft shows, or helping (probably pestering) my mom string beads for the necklaces. Then there is my dad. He also created his own business which I helped at shows, or answering phone calls and taking messages and anything I could possibly do, and when old enough, helping put things together with him. I grew up surrounded by crafters, entrepreneurs, and all these amazing people, ideas and stories who have influenced me in all the best ways.
I never was able to make the gorgeous pendants, and for a long time I had stayed away from jewelry. Instead I drew, wrote, painted, dabbled in needle point, read (I'm always reading who am I kidding). But I always continued making things and finally worked myself back around to the beginning.
I will always continue creating, learning new amazing things on the way, and see how far I can go . Songbird Silver started out as a small idea (WolfSong Jewelry), and has turned into a passion. I love wire wrapping and metalsmithing, Going from an idea, thinking "I wonder if I can make this work", to seeing it come to life in front of your very eyes is an experience I cherish. And the happy dance I do after I try something new and it comes out perfect entertains my amazing guy Every. Single. Time. There are few things better in life.
